Sterling has 24 goals in the Champions League, equal to former Man Utd midfielder Paul Scholes and one more than Chelsea legend Frank Lampard.
Sterling scored the 5-0 score for Man City in the victory over host Sporting Lisbon in the first leg of the 1/8 round of the Champions League on February 16.
Sterling has won every domestic title with Man City, with three Premier Leagues, one FA Cup, four League Cups and one English Super Cup.
`The Champions League is the only title Man City has not won, and the whole team is very focused on this arena,` Sterling emphasized.
Sterling is still a key factor in Pep Guardiola’s squad, even though Man City recruited Jack Grealish for a record transfer fee for a British player – $139 million in summer 2021. He scored 14 goals and seven assists in 41 matches.
When asked about Real’s comeback against PSG and Chelsea in their journey to the Champions League semi-finals, Sterling said: `We know, not only from this season but from previous seasons and history, that Real is a very strong club.
He added: `The past doesn’t really matter. What Man City can control is to prepare as best as possible. This is a round with two legs. We cannot focus on Real’s previous matches.`
