(Dan Tri) – Tens of thousands of Cubans gathered at Revolution Square in Havana, quietly waiting in line to pay their respects to leader Fidel Castro as the American country began 9 days of national mourning for the hero.

At 9 a.m. on November 28 (Cuba time), 21 cannons were fired from Morro fortress in Havana and another fortress in Santiago city to begin the funeral of leader Fidel Castro.
Cubans lined up in three long lines to enter the Jose Martin Memorial, located on Revolution Square, to pay their respects to leader Fidel Castro.
The Jose Marti Memorial is a place that witnessed many large demonstrations in support of the Cuban revolution and leader Fidel Castro also gave many hours-long speeches here.
Leader Fidel Castro was instrumental in liberating Cuba from the Batista dictatorship, leading the Cuban revolution in 1959 and leading the American nation to the path of independence and freedom today.
