The cause stems from the flight control system being completely automated, causing the aircraft to fight against the pilot during air combat.
The fruits of these improvements are clearly demonstrated in performance in the following years.
Flatley emphasized that pilots who have flown older fighters will have to completely abandon their previous habits to adapt to the completely new tactics of the F-35.
