During the discussion on the current situation and solutions for developing craft village tourism and traditional craft streets of Hanoi and the Red River Delta provinces, Mr. Mai Tien Dung, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism

`The ratio of visitors to craft villages compared to tourists in the whole city is still low, and tourist spending on tourist services is almost non-existent,` said Mr. Dung.

Agreeing with the above viewpoint, Mr. Vu Manh Hai, Chairman of the Hanoi Association of Artisans and Skilled Workers, said that in the trend of integration and opening up, traditional craft villages are gradually regaining their important position, but due to the

Bat Trang pottery village has become an attractive place for tourists visiting the capital.

According to him, the actual deployment of craft village tourist attractions in some districts is only a formality because most of these craft villages do not have the infrastructure to meet the requirements and the tourist attractions are still very sketchy.

`Attracting tourists in craft villages is still spontaneous and fragmented, products are poor in design, and product quality does not meet market requirements,` Mr. Hai said.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ba, Chairman of the Hanoi Craft Villages Association, the capital has many craft villages but scattered in many places, production technology is still rudimentary and outdated, productivity and quality are not high, competitiveness is low.

To overcome the above situations, according to Mr. Ba, it is necessary to prioritize environmental treatment, not letting waste affect health, creating links between types of tourism with craft villages, and between tourist destinations.

Agreeing with the opinion of the Chairman of the Hanoi Craft Villages Association, Mr. Vu Manh Hai made recommendations `it is necessary to clearly plan the tourist attractions of craft villages, from there there will be investment in the right direction and focus for each village.`

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said that currently the management of craft villages still has many overlaps and inadequacies, and there is no close attention from local authorities.

`We cannot bring tourists to all the craft villages we have, we must choose the most typical craft villages, then invest in infrastructure to connect tourism and services, focusing on

The leaders of the General Department of Tourism also hope that in order to develop tourism associated with the development of craft villages, there needs to be attention from authorities at all levels so that craft village tourism becomes one of the types of tourism favored by tourists.
