Thanks to his talent, Galliano was awarded `Designer of the Year` four times by the British Fashion Council in 1987, 1994, 1995 and 1997. In the 2004 BBC poll, he was on the list of influential people.

John Galliano’s fashion path is full of ups and downs.
It was not until he entered Central Saint Martins – a prestigious art and design school in London in 1980 that Galliano’s talents were appreciated.
In 1984, Galliano designed the Les Incroyables collection inspired by the 18th century French Revolution as his graduation work.
The designer moved to Paris (France) looking for a new source of financial support.

In 1995, Galliano became creative director for Givenchy, the first British designer to head the French brand.
By October 1996, Galliano was attached to Christian Dior.
But Galliano’s success was paid for by addictions to alcohol, opium, sleeping pills, and painkillers.
Passion for design once again revived Galliano’s spirit.
Realizing Galliano’s sincerity, Anna Wintour once again introduced him to Oscar de la Renta.
In 2014, the fashion house became creative director for Maison Margiela, marking a return to the luxury colony.
