Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison discussed bilateral and regional cooperation as well as shared experiences and results achieved in responding to Covid-19 in a phone call this afternoon, according to the announcement.

The Prime Minister asked Australia to pay attention and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese international students to feel secure in continuing their studies in Australia.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also thanked Australia for proactively proposing technical assistance to help Vietnam minimize the negative socio-economic impacts of the Covid-19 epidemic, affirming that Vietnam is ready to support Australia in any way possible.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a phone call with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison this afternoon.

Prime Minister Morrison highly appreciated the efforts and measures of the Vietnamese government to respond to Covid-19, sharing similarities as well as some specialties in the measures that the Australian government is implementing.

The two leaders agreed to continue working together to further deepen the trusted Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Australia, proactively preparing measures to restore tourism, aviation and people-to-people exchanges immediately after

Mr. Morrison highly appreciated Vietnam’s role and initiatives as ASEAN Chair 2020, pledging to continue supporting and closely coordinating with Vietnam on regional and international issues of mutual concern to promote

Covid-19 has appeared in 209 countries and territories, causing more than 1.5 million infections and nearly 89,000 deaths.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Australia then discussed with local officials to clarify the content of Prime Minister Morrison’s speech.
