After convincingly overthrowing `King of Clay` Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals on Friday, Djokovic could not reproduce that top tennis in the first two sets of the match against Tsitsipas.

Tsitsipas, who also plays a one-handed backhand like Wawrinka, caused Djokovic to experience moments of fear.

Djokovic won the title for the second time, after reaching the finals of Roland Garros six times.

Djokovic, in fact, had many opportunities to get off to a good start, despite having eye problems after slipping while saving the ball in the middle of the first set.

Djokovic made many mistakes, but it cannot be denied that Tsitsipas played impressively in the first two sets, thanks to the fulcrum of his serves.

Tsitsipas had 14 aces, compared to Djokovic’s 5.

But just like the match against Lorenzo Musetti in round four, Djokovic went to the locker room after losing the first two sets.

Difficulties came for Tsitsipas, when he had to call for medical attention after the third set because of a back injury.

Being equaled 2-2 by his seniors, Tsitsipas was not only down physically, but also mentally.

The 6-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 victory helped Djokovic win one of the most memorable Grand Slams he has ever participated in.

Djokovic has twice won three Grand Slams in one year, and was also the defending champion at all four Grand Slams in the 2015-2016 period.
