China rushed to blockade to protect the `Zero Covid stronghold` 0

AFP reported that after discovering a new Covid-19 case, officials in Heihe city, Heilongjiang province (China) on October 28 imposed a strict blockade.

Local media said that public transportation services such as buses and taxis had to be temporarily suspended, and vehicles were not allowed to leave the city. This week, two other Chinese cities including Lanzhou (Lanzhou)

Lanzhou city applied a blockade from October 26 after recording 6 cases of Covid-19.

In addition to more than 6 million people in the above three cities, tens of thousands of people in several other cities, including Beijing, are also affected by the blockade.

Chinese localities enforce blockade measures as the country continues to pursue the `Zero Covid` strategy to deal with the new epidemic.

The latest outbreak in China since October 17 is related to the Delta variant, which is believed to be more contagious.

China is the first and last country to pursue a zero-tolerance response strategy to the Covid-19 pandemic.
